Network Y

Network Y in partnership with the Exeter YMCA has developed an exciting plan to make a real difference to disadvantaged young DiscoverY2people living in our city.

Every one of us at ENC has something uniquely valuable that we can offer to these young people and there are three ways in which you can get involved:

  •  The Big Free FrY Up - at the Y on the 2nd Sunday of the month 10am - midday. A free fry up for all with the sole intention of blessing the residents with free food and hanging out - no strings attached.
How you can get involved: if you like cooking / eating / generally hanging out and socialising on a Sunday morning, contact: kellynewland@me.com

  •  FrequencY - a weekly meeting for current Christian / interested residents at the Y as a low key version of church offering time to listen, pray, read the bible and offer valuable spiritual support to these young people experiencing a difficult time in their lives. The group will meet at the Network room 6-7pm (day tbc).

How you can get involved:  If you would like to be part of the FrequencY team, contact kellynewland@me.com to find out more. Training and support is offered to all team members.

  • DiscoverY - Starting 2012 we are putting together a whole new course for the residents of the Y to explore the Christian faith and discover how it can transform their lives. There will be an activity weekend away offered as part of the course.

How you can get involved:  If you are interested in being part of the DiscoverY team, contact kelly.newland@me.com to be put on the database. You can also download a response form here and send to the church office @ 22 Southernhay West, Exeter. EX1 1PR.

If working with young people is very new to you / feels a bit scary - get in touch! There are lots of ways that you can join in, make a difference and learn some new skills.
If you feel you can offer some time but feel worried that you won't be able to offer very much - get in touch! We can work something out.... even a little time is valuable.
Spending time with these young people makes such a positive difference to their lives - but it will also make a positive difference to yours too!
