“Reading without reflecting is like eating without digesting.”

Welcome to the ENC book club page!  This is a new network that is open to everyone and anyone.  The idea is that we all read the same book and then meet to discuss it.  It's as simple as that really!

booksIt won't be too "high brow" and we'll try to read a variety of books (although they will mostly be fiction).  We will meet every 6 weeks or so and I'll give you plenty of warning what each book will be.  It will be a good opportunity to get to know new people and will be "blurred edge".

We had a good discussion on Mosquito and the book had some high scores.  For those that haven't yet read it, it's a love story set against the backdrop of civil unrest and war in Sri Lanka and is beautifully written.

Our next book is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.  It's not just chosen because of its quirky title, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope you do too.

We have pencilled in Monday 5th March to discuss it, at 8pm at Nicola's as usual.  If a Monday is difficult for you, please let me know and I'll see if another day suits people better.

We're still waiting for The Help to come out on DVD rental, but I'll keep you posed and suggest a possible date for those that would like to see it.

If anyone has an idea for subsequent books, please let me know. As always, please feel free to invite anyone else to come along.

Cup of tea a good book copy

Happy reading!
Love Rachel

Please feel free to come along to the meetings, whether or not you've decided to read the book, or had a chance to. The discussion may encourage you (or not!) to read it.

It would be helpful to have an idea of numbers so if you would like to come or if you would simply like to find out more information about this network then please email Rachel at rachel-parker@live.com
