Bereavement Support Group

Here is an opportunity to meet with others and talk confidentially. Having worked with GP practices, in social and mental health care and in a hospice, Christa and Felicity offer between them over 45 years’ experience of facilitating groups. They have found that talking with others, really does help relieve feelings of isolation and loneliness.

This support group takes place over six Tuesdays for two hours a week from 3rd Nov, to 8th Dec, 9:30am to 11:30am.

There is no charge to attend.

The group is open to anyone aged 16+ who has experienced a bereavement — whether your loss was very recent or many years ago.

Grief can be incredibly lonely. There can also be a feeling that, after a certain amount of time, we should somehow have “moved on”. Our experience is that grief is often something we learn to live with, rather than something we simply get over.

This is a group, not a course. There’s no teaching, no powerpoints, no handouts and no expectation to share anything you don’t want to. It’s simply a safe and confidential space to meet with others who understand something of the experience of loss — to talk, listen and realise that you’re not alone.

We’ve deliberately chosen to run the group in the lead-up to Christmas, knowing this can be a particularly difficult and tender time when you’ve lost someone.

We do require people to attend the first session on Tuesday 3rd November and to attend at least four out of the six sessions.
